SYCAMORE – Even in a world of Coronavirus, the holiday season will still be upon us soon, and the Kishwaukee Valley Art League will once again help shoppers with their Christmas gift selections by offering its annual Holiday Arts and Crafts Market on Nov. 21 at the Gallery on State, 322 W. State St. in Sycamore.
The market will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. during the Sycamore “Jingle The Bells” downtown holiday shopping event to be held Nov. 20-22. COVID-19 restrictions will apply.
Featuring unique holiday gifts made by several local artists, shoppers can purchase items in such mediums as oil, watercolor and acrylic painting, photography and scanography, colored pencil, pen and ink, pottery, fabric, paper sculpture, gourd art, note cards, wood crafts, jewelry, and leather. In addition to original gift selections, several artists will offer holiday ornaments and décor items.
Admission is free for the Holiday Arts and Crafts Market, and the show offers shoppers the opportunity to browse original creative gifts, meet and chat with the artists, and enjoy the ambiance of KVAL’s new Gallery on State.
KVAL members donate art supplies for local charities through its Art of Giving philanthropy program. Donations from the general public are welcome and can be dropped off at Gallery on State.
In addition to the Holiday Arts and Crafts Market, the league will participate in the Sycamore Chamber’s downtown Moonlight Magic event from 6 to 8 p.m Nov. 20 and the Chocolate Walk on Dec. 3, to be held from noon to 8 p.m. at Gallery on State.
KVAL is committed to promoting local artists and dedicated to the development of upcoming artists in the Kishwaukee Valley area. Hy-Vee and Waste Management are patron members of the organization. For information, visit www.kval-nfp.org.
