The Sycamore Lions Club's recent Candy Day fundraiser generated nearly $7,700 for vision and hearing programs.
The generosity of businesses and residents will help address local concerns of the visually and hearing impaired and help to provide 18,000 visually and hearing impaired children and adults in Illinois with critically needed services.
Contributions make the following projects possible: Camp Lions for Children and Adults, Low Vision Program, Mobile Diabetic Retinopathy/Macular Program, Mobile Hearing Unit, Social Services and Referral, LIF Used Hearing Aid Collection & Hearing Aid Bank, Used Eyeglass Collections, and LIF Fund for Emergency.
Elleson’s Bakery, Hy-Vee Food Store, Walgreens and Parkway Restaurant allowed Sycamore Lions members to collect donations on their premises during Candy Day
The Sycamore Lions Club thanks the many local businesses that helped cover the expense of the candy and also the community residents for their donations during this difficult time.
