DeKALB – With the uncertainty of how school will look in the fall semester, many educators are wondering how to organize an online or hybrid learning environment.
The DeKalb Public Library will host a virtual workshop on online course design for educators from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Amanda Smothers from Northern Illinois University’s Faculty Development Office will conduct an informational session and Q&A on how to design online and hybrid courses.
Topics to be discussed include how to make an interactive online course, how to gauge participation for an online course, different types of online courses, scheduling assignments and due dates for online classes, what a typical week of online teaching looks like, grading practices in online courses, things to consider when teaching during a pandemic and online course tools.
