Family Service Agency’s Children’s Advocacy Center was awarded a grant from Domestic Trafficking Victims Funds for the expansion of services in DeKalb County to victims of child sex trafficking and child pornography.
Awarded funds will be used for training members of the multidisciplinary team including the state’s attorney’s office, law enforcement, DCFS, medical team, forensic interviewers, trauma team and victim advocates, to expand services to victims of child sex trafficking and child pornography.
FSA’s CAC was one of only 31 Advocacy Centers in the nation to receive this grant, and just one of two in Illinois. The grant will allow CAC to provide valuable training for the specialized response, interviewing and investigation that is involved with children who have been trafficked and/or exploited. The CAC strives to continue building the program for the most vulnerable population in DeKalb County and is proud to work with such supportive partnering agencies.
