Northern Rehab Therapy Specialists has awarded its annual Sports and Health scholarship for Genoa-Kingston to Olivia Simmons.
Simmons, a multisport athlete in softball and volleyball, is a member of numerous school organizations, including the math team, scholastic bowl, art club, marching band and symphonic band.
She also is a student ambassador, peer mentor and tutor. Her community service includes Youth Engaged in Philanthropy, United Way Youth Board, Opportunity House, Chamber of Commerce, Feed My Starving Children and Goodies for Good. She has received awards from local service organizations, scholastic competitions, photography and her athletic exploits. She is an Illinois State Scholar, National Honors Society and student council member.
Simmons had been accepted into the Northwestern Medicine Discovery Program, but has chosen to attend Western Washington University to study pre-medicine.
Northern Rehab also awarded the Rochelle Township High School Sports and Health Scholarship to Kaylee Brown.
