DeKALB – The DeKalb Public Library's anime and manga clubs are going digital during the coronavirus pandemic.
Meetings of anime and manga clubs for teens and adults will be via Zoom, provided by home-school educator Colleen Rittmeyer, according to a news release.
Teen club meetings will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursdays, May 7 and 21. On May 7, the club will play name that tune and will watch a few episodes of “Fire Force.” On May 21, the club will play Pictionary and will continue watching “Fire Force.”
Adults can attend clubs from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursdays, May 14 and 28. On May 17, the club will play pub trivia. As attendees log in, they will be sorted into teams and will play a few rounds of trivia to win prizes. If time remains, the club will watch an episode of “Arte.” On May 28, the club will play Japanese Salesman and will continue watching “Arte.”
Register online for the clubs at www.dkpl.org. After registration, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to the Zoom meeting, a phone number to call into the Zoom meeting and a password to the meeting. Join the Zoom meeting 5 minutes before the program, especially if you haven’t used Zoom before. Sessions are limited to the first 10 people.
