DeKALB – The Egyptian Theatre in downtown DeKalb is taking its weekly Hard Hat Tour online.

Since last fall, the Egyptian has been hosting free tours every Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. In order to help promote the health and well-being of the community, the Egyptian has canceled the in-person tours and, instead, will host them on Facebook Live at 5:30 p.m. every Tuesday until the end of April.

Viewers are encouraged to tune in via the theater’s Facebook page to see the latest construction updates as well as ask questions via the live stream that can be addressed during the tour. Anyone who missed the tour live can either watch the video later on Facebook or on the theater’s YouTube channel.

The Egyptian Theatre, located at 135 N. Second St. in DeKalb, is owned and operated by Preservation of Egyptian Theatre Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
