SYCAMORE – Sycamore’s 23rd annual Cinco de Mayo celebration is scheduled for Sunday, May 3.
The annual fiesta takes place on Bill Johnson Boulevard behind Taxco Restaurant in downtown Sycamore and will run from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. The community is invited to enjoy a family friendly event with live music, ethnic dancers, piņatas, pony rides, a climbing wall, games and authentic Mexican cuisine.
Over the past 23 years, Sycamore’s Cinco de Mayo festival has become a place for the community to gather and celebrate Mexican heritage. Proceeds from the event are put back into the community through local nonprofit organizations. Over the years, Sycamore’s Cinco de Mayo has raised over more than $175,000 for local nonprofits.
“It has been a true honor to put on this event for our community for the last 23 years,” Jesus Romero, event founder, said in a news release. “I’d like to thank all of our supporters over the years who have made this event possible.”
Volunteers and sponsors are needed for the community event. Visit Sycamorecincodemayo.org for more information or contact Jesus Romero at 815-895-2545 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
