KC art gallery hosts high school student art exhibition

The Kishwaukee College Art Gallery is hosting the Juried High School Student Art Exhibition through March 12.

Rising artistic talent is featured in this exhibition, where regional high school students submit their best art work and creative writing to share with the community. Prizes will be awarded to top-ranking submissions. This year’s show features works by students from Hiawatha, DeKalb, Sycamore and Rochelle Township high schools.

Admission to the art gallery and exhibition is free and open to the public. The gallery is in building C1260 and is most easily accessed from Parking Lot B, entering through door 58. The art gallery is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays during exhibitions.

A closing reception will be from 5 to 7 p.m. March 12 in the art gallery. A public reading of poetry and prose entries will be at 5:30 p.m. and the awards ceremony will begin at 6 p.m.
