Free session offered on making end-of-life decisions

Do you have a 2020 vision for your future? Are you prepared for the time when you or a family member lose independence or face end-of-life decisions?

It can be difficult during an emergency or when facing a family member’s death to make decisions about medical care and final disposition or funeral arrangements. It is good idea to assist loved ones in advance – financially and emotionally – by making choices now, even if there’s no crisis in your immediate future.

A free, no obligation lunch-and-learn session will be held for the public, hosted by Olson Funeral & Cremation Services. The session will be held at noon Feb. 17, at Panera Bread, 2476 Sycamore Road in DeKalb. The event will include a free catered meal and will share information about how best to record funeral resolutions.

Funeral director and advance planning adviser Deb Gaines will discuss how people can give their loved ones peace of mind by pre-planning arrangements.

Estate attorney Jeff Lewis will share the importance of having a Power of Attorney and of making a will.

All that is required to attend the free lunch is a reservation, which can be made by calling Quiram Sycamore Chapel at 815-895-6589.
