SYCAMORE – When the DeKalb Area Agricultural Heritage Association hosts its ninth annual meeting it will award a local family for its decades of work, according to a news release.
The event begins at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 12, and will be held at DeKalb County Farm Bureau, 1350 W. Prairie Drive, Sycamore. Registration starts at 10:30 a.m. Lunch will be served.
Ken and Richard Hintzsche ran a small family business in the 1960s and became a multi-county leader in agriculture enterprises, the release states.
The Hintzsche companies grew and expanded for 52 years and included locations in Kirkland, Scarboro, Minooka, as well as fuel sites in Troxel, DeKalb, Rochelle and Waterman, providing production and management innovations for their business and their customers' businesses.
Northern Illinois University President Lisa Freeman will present the keynote address, "NIU and DAAHA - Working Together to Support Our Regional Innovation Ecosystem."
