Mighty Maker study stars at nighttime program

DeKALB – Chris Marshall, manager of the Northern Illinois University Observatory, will bring two telescopes to the DeKalb Public Library at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 11, for some outdoor stargazing.

The program is part of Mighty Makers, a making club for students in kindergarten through fifth grade. Children in kindergarten through second grade are encouraged to attend with an adult.

Weather-permitting, the group will take a closer look at the moon, Saturn and, hopefully, the Pleiades star cluster. If the program needs to be rescheduled because of weather, they’ll try to meet the following Monday, Nov. 18, at 6:30 p.m.

Space is limited to 20 participants. Registration for this free program will begin one hour before the start of the program at the Youth Services Desk.
