DeKALB – Mayor Jerry Smith is looking for a resident of the 4th ward to fill a vacant seat on the City Council.

To qualify, prospective appointees must have lived in the city for at least a year and have no felony record.

Those interested should send a letter and résumé with background information to Smith at 200 S. Fourth St., DeKalb, IL 60115 or by email to jerry.smith@cityofdekalb.com.

Applications are due by Oct. 11.
