50 Men Who Cook, the annual fundraiser presented by Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital to benefit the children of DeKalb County, will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Barsema Alumni and Visitors Center, North Annie Glidden Road, on the Northern Illinois University campus.
Prominent DeKalb County men will cook their own specialty dishes for those in attendance to sample, including appetizers, salads, side dishes, entrees and desserts. The evening will include dinner (sampling of all dishes), cash bar, entertainment and raffles.
Tickets cost $40 each at the door; in advance, $70 for two. Proceeds will benefit Court Appointed Special Advocates. Advance tickets are available online or at CASA DeKalb County, 407 W. CASA DeKalb County Inc. is a nonprofit organization which trains local citizens as volunteer child advocates. These advocates are appointed by the DeKalb County Juvenile Court in cases involving children who have been abused or neglected by their parent or guardian.
