St. Paul’s to host study of the Book of Revelation

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church of DeKalb will offer a series of video presentations and discussions on the Book of Revelation, The Apocalypse, or Revelation to John – the last book of the Bible.

The series will feature the work of two prominent scholars: Elaine Pagels, author of "Revelations: Visions, Prophecy and Politics in the Book of Revelation," and the Rev. Michael Battle’s "Heaven on Earth: God’s Call to Community in the Book of Revelation." The discussions will be led by the Rev. Barbara A. T. Wilson, rector at St. Paul’s.

Each class will meet in the Parish Hall from 9 to 10 a.m. Sundays, June 16 through Aug. 4, and repeated on Mondays from 6 to 7 p.m. June 17 through Aug. 5.

People of all faiths and beliefs are welcome, wanted and invited to attend, and are also welcome to attend weekly services and celebration of Holy Communion on Sundays immediately before the lecture at 8 a.m. or following at 10:30 a.m.

The sessions are free; no signup is required.

St. Paul’s, located at 900 Normal Road in DeKalb, is a member of the Episcopal Diocese of Chicago and is a handicap accessible building.
