DeKALB – The DeKalb Area Women’s Center’s annual Holiday Shopping Fair will be held 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6 and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7 at the center, 1021 State St. in DeKalb.
Forty-four years ago, two Ellen Oaks residents, Marilyn Greenawalt and Nancy Wulf, decided to have a Christmas open house craft show in their home in Genoa. The show was a success, and grew until it had to be moved to the Masonic Temple in Genoa.

SYCAMORE – Rev. Marvin Metzger and a team of more than 100 volunteers served a pre-Thanksgiving turkey dinner to hundreds of their neighbors on Sunday.
DeKALB – The Northern Illinois University Art Museum is hosting the NIU School of Art Faculty Biennial through Saturday, Feb. 15. The opening reception for the exhibition will be from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21.
