The Ullman Foundation of Baltimore, Maryland, helps support young adults dealing with cancer. Every year it sponsors several 4,500-plus mile cross country bike rides to raise support and asks churches and community groups to house participants along their ride.
St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in DeKalb has agreed to shelter 27 young adult riders on Friday night this year as a stop along their way from Baltimore to Seattle. The church members will supply a potluck dinner that evening and offer a simple breakfast the next morning before the riders head out along their path.
St. Paul’s Episcopal Church is located at 900 Normal Road in DeKalb. For more information, call the church at 815-756-4888 or visit www.stpaulsdekalb.org.
