DeKALB – Anyone who likes to sing is welcome to join the Celebration Chorale for its Patriotic Cantata, which will be performed in the summer.

The first event for this year’s singers will be an informal meet-and-greet at 8 p.m. Wednesday in the dining room at First United Methodist Church, 317 N. Fourth St. in DeKalb.

Rehearsals are held at the church, but all are welcome. Celebration Chorale is a multi-denomination choir.

The church's handicapped entrance is on the east side of the building near the elevator to the lower floor where the event will be held, and there is parking on the north side of the church, with plenty of parking elsewhere near the church.

Those who wish to support the nonprofit Celebration Chorale can do so during the DeKalb County Community Foundation's annual Give DeKalb County on May 2. For information, visit www.givedekalbcounty.org.

There is no need to register for the meet-and-greet ahead of time, just show up. For more information about the group, visit http://firstumc.net or find the group on Facebook.
