Sale hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Thousands of items will be available for sale in the Yusunas and Zimmerman Rooms in the lower level of the library, 309 Oak St. in DeKalb. Most have been donated recently by library patrons and community members and are in very good to nearly new condition.

Shoppers will find plenty to choose from in fiction, children’s books, science-fiction and fantasy, history, biography and memoir, art, cookbooks, large print, religion, sports, gardening, crafts and more. There is a large collection of DVDs and music and audio CDs.

Prices range from 25 cents for children’s books and mass market paperbacks, to $1 for trade and large paperbacks and $1.50 for hardcover books. Music CDs cost $1 each and DVDs are $2. There also will be some specially priced books. On Sunday, bags will be provided for the $5-a-bag sale; audio books, CDs and DVDs will be sold at half-price.

The Friends are accepting donations of gently used books, CDs and DVDs for the sale. Donations can be dropped off at the main desk of the library. Encyclopedias, textbooks, LPs and videotapes are not accepted.

The Friends have raised and donated more than $65,000 to the library since 2002, supporting many programs, as well as the purchase of materials and books. Information about the sale and the Friends can be found at www.dkpl.org/friends-of-the-library or by calling 815-756-9568, ext. 1030.
