DeKalb utility bills can now be paid via phone or new online portal

Residents should remember credit, debit card fees still apply, are paid by the customer

DeKALB – The new online portal for utility payment thorugh the city of DeKalb is now live.

According to the city's e-newsletter, the portal can be accessed with the account number of residents wishhing to pay their utility bill online.

Residents who don't yet have an account are encouraged to create one for ease of access, and should note that the old online billing portal is now no longer in use, according to the release.

The portal can be accessed thorugh the utility billing page on the city's website or through billing services online.

On top of the new online portal, customers also have the option to pay their utility bill by phone. They should call 855-573-6009 to check account balances and make payments using a credit or debit card.

For phone transactions only, a fee of 75 cents will be added to the card payment, which is in addition to any fees attached to the individual card payments.

Credit or debit card transaction fees are now paid by the customer, according to the release, whether they payi in person, online, or on the phone.
