The DeKalb County Health Department will stock up DeKalb County food pantries with personal hygiene necessities as part of the department's emergency preparedness drill next month, according to a news release from the health department.

Collections will take place until Feb. 15 at the DeKalb County Health Department in DeKalb, 2550 N. Annie Glidden Road; the DeKalb Public Library, 309 Oak St. in DeKalb; the Genoa Public Library, 240 W. Main St. in Genoa; the Kishwaukee Family YMCA, 2500 Bethany Road in Sycamore; the Fox Valley Family YMCA, 707 S. Main St. in Sandwich; and the Sycamore Public Library, 103 E. State St. in Sycamore.

County health officials said they are focusing on adding regular-sized items for the collection, but travel-sized items wouldn't be turned away. Businesses and organizations are also encouraged to run their own collections that can be dropped off at any of the listed locations or picked up by the health department.
