DeKALB – Adventure Works has been awarded a grant by the First Midwest Bank Charitable Foundation. The grant, valued at $4,000, will support the organization's mission of guiding youth in overcoming life challenges through adventure-based counseling and education.

The grant makes up a portion of the $250,000 fund established in 2016 to be awarded to area nonprofit organizations whose missions align with the charitable interests of First Midwest Bank.

Adventure Works is a nonprofit, interactive counseling agency that serves youth up to the age of 26, providing individual, family and group therapy through adventure. A demonstrated alternative to talk therapy, services are provided year-round, using the natural environment to engage clients behaviorally, emotionally and physically.
