The Celebration Chorale invites the community to a free concert at First United Methodist Church of DeKalb. Performances will take place at 7 p.m. Thursday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday.
The Celebration Chorale and Celebration Chorale Orchestra are under the direction of Christine Monteiro. The cantata also will feature the Celebration Chorale Children’s Choir under the direction of Sally Mullis.
“Noel – Night of Everlasting Love” is a musical created by Derric Johnson and orchestrated by J. Daniel Smith. It is a collection of timeless Christmas classics.
These traditional songs simply tell the story of Jesus’ birth. The arrangements of traditional songs and carols capture the awe and wonder inherent in the coming of a holy Savior into a sinful world to redeem mankind.
There is no charge for the performances at the church, but there will be a free-will offering. Refreshments will be served after the performances in the dining room.
The Oak Street entrance is closest to the sanctuary where the performance will be, but to avoid stairs, visitors should enter through the handicap entrance on Fourth Street and take the elevator to the second floor.
The church is located at 317 N. Fourth St., next to the public library.
