DeKalb Area Retirement Center – Oak Crest residents and staff invite community friends to come to a special fall tea at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, in the Vista Room at Oak Crest.
This will be an opportunity to socialize and to learn about volunteering at Oak Crest and how people can share their time and talents.
Oak Crest is a long-term care facility with approximately 275 residents ranging in age from early 60s to early 100s. Volunteers can choose from a wide variety of opportunities. Whatever a person's interest, Oak Crest has a program that is right for them, including crafts, reading, letter writing, gardening, table games or spending a quiet afternoon visiting.
The Oak Crest chapel, library and gift shop provide volunteers with varied experiences. Special events are many and volunteers help in planning and participating in each. Opportunities are endless.
Oak Crest is located at 2944 Greenwood Acres Drive in DeKalb. Enter through Door 4.
