Kishwaukee College professors will lead academic discussion in a series called The Dialogues.
Pernevlon Ellis, assistant professor of sociology, and Jennifer Jossendal, assistant professor of history, will debut the series with “The Dialogues: #BadWords: Language, Technology, and Free Speech” today from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in room A1273 on campus. This event is free and open to the public.
The Dialogues series will be held about once each month and allow for members of the community to join Kishwaukee College faculty, staff and students in thoughtful, civil discourse on topics relevant to current events and issues facing the U.S. and its role in the world.
The Dialogues: #BadWords will be a discussion detailing the and evolution of free speech in America, in practice and theory.
Upcoming series dates occur on the fourth Wednesday of every month. The second forum in series will be “Why Your Vote Matters: Local State & National Elections” and will be Nov. 28 room A1225.
