Music, fireworks, food at Cortland Summer Fest

Cortland Summer Fest will open Friday and run through Saturday at Cortland Community Park, 70 S. Llanos St.

A tented beverage garden and food vendors will be available both days. Admission costs $5 for ages 21 and older, and is free for ages 20 and younger.

Gates open at 6 p.m. Friday, with the bands Party Doctors performing at 6 p.m. and Johnny and the Boomers at 8:30 p.m. Gates open at noon Saturday, with Mr. Freeze performing at noon, JD Trucker at 2:30 p.m., Rockin' Moxie at 5 p.m. and Back County Roads at 8 p.m.

On Friday, face painting will be available from 6 to 9 p.m. and the fireworks show will be at dusk. On Saturday, pony rides and a petting zoo will be available from noon to 4 p.m. and a matador bull ride will be from 6 to 9 p.m. A silent auction and 50/50 drawing, hosted by the Cortland Festival and Parade Committee, also will be held Saturday.
