The DeKalb County Community Foundation is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a number of activities to celebrate, thank and give back to local communities.
The foundation is participating in events in each community with the goal of awarding a $2,500 Celebration Grant to a selected organization. The celebration in Kingston will take place from 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday.
DCCF will provide information about the foundation, offer giveaways and ask for nominations of organizations and nonprofits that contribute to the community. At 11 a.m., there will be a drawing to determine which organization will receive the grant.
The Grow Mobile Food Pantry will distribute food from 8 to 11 a.m. The Friendship Center will serve its community breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m. From 9 a.m. to noon, the Gracie Center Pop Up Shop will sell buttered popcorn and sno-cups in a variety of flavors. They also will host a popcorn shelling contest.
The Kingston Sharing Library will be open from 9 a.m. to noon and will conduct a book sale. Hand in Hand will set up a table with a Kingston trivia game with prizes.
