SYCAMORE – Heartland Bank has committed a leadership gift to the Sycamore Education Foundation’s campaign to raise $150,000 in support of its mission and long-term planning.
One goal that was identified during a strategic planning process was to build to a point where the all-volunteer foundation would be able to support a full-time employee. Having a director to cultivate relationships with alumni and Sycamore community members and businesses would have a huge impact on the SEF and Sycamore.
The Sycamore Education Foundation is on the way to its goal. Like all donation sand pledges, donors have the option to make a one-time donation or pledge to contribute in increments of up to three years. The project will help increase the impact of the SEF’s mission, enhancing and enriching education in Sycamore, a mission the SEF has focused on for 34 years.
“We are incredibly privileged to have a foundation of this caliber supporting our schools and children for many years in this community," Julie Sommese, Heartland Bank senior vice president and market leader, said in a news release. "Heartland Bank is proud to contribute to their effort to create a strong and sustainable support system for the foreseeable future.”
Heartland Bank and Trust Company is an independently owned community bank with assets of $3 billion. Headquartered in Bloomington, the bank has offices in communities throughout Illinois.
Supporting more than 3,565 students, faculty and administrators, the Sycamore Education Foundation receives and distributes private gifts from individuals and businesses to enrich educational opportunities for students in the Sycamore school district not otherwise available through regular funding resources.
