The Ellwood House Museum, FunMe Events and Kishwaukee Fest will present "Broadway at the Mansion," the first installment of the six-part Music at the Mansion summer concert series at 7 p.m. Wednesday. The 90-minute performance is open to the public and free to attend.
The high-energy Mary J Harris Trio, fronted by jazz vocalist Mary J Harris and featuring drummer Bob DeVita and pianist Bob Rub III, will perform a variety of jazz standards from the great American Broadway songbook. The concert will take place on the front porch of the historic Ellwood mansion, with seating available on the front lawn.
Guests are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket. Beer, wine, soda and water will be available for purchase from Fatty’s Catering of DeKalb.
The Music at the Mansion series will feature performances from a variety of genres on select Wednesday evenings throughout the summer. The Ellwood House Museum is located at 509 N. First St. in DeKalb. On-site parking at the museum is limited. Guests are encouraged to use legal street parking near the museum or the public lots just a few blocks away in downtown DeKalb. The museum is operated by the nonprofit Ellwood House Association in conjunction with the DeKalb Park District.
