DeKALB – Comcast plans to open a new Xfinity store at 2565 Sycamore Road in June, company officials announced recently.
The new store would give visitors hands-on experience with Xfinity’s range of products and services, including cable TV, high-speed internet, mobile phones and home security, the company said in a news release.
Customers also will be able to pay bills and pick up and return equipment.
“The stores are awesome places to visit and learn more about Xfinity products and services from the trained store staff,” John Crowley, Comcast’s greater Chicago region senior vice president said in a news release. “Visitors are welcome to come in and experience our products and services like they would at home.”
Service center operations would move from the current facility at 1430 Sycamore Road to the new store. Comcast will still occupy this building, which houses about 30 employees the company said.
DeKalb Mayor Jerry Smith said in a news release he was pleased to see an expanded Xfinity retail presence in DeKalb.
“Comcast has had a significant presence in DeKalb for several years, including its service center, warehouse and technical operations facility on Sycamore Road,” Smith said in the statement. “The new Xfinity Store should provide an even better customer experience.”
Store hours will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and from noon to 5 p.m. Sundays.
