SYCAMORE — The Sycamore Music Boosters have announced deadlines to apply for multiple scholarships the group is offering.

The volunteer organization is now accepting applications for scholarships for summer music camp support, senior music and continuing college music, according to a news release from the boosters.

“These scholarships are awarded to help the growth of the individual music student as well to build the Sycamore Music Program,” the release stated.

Any sixth- to 11th-grade Sycamore student enrolled in band, orchestra or choir is eligible to apply for a scholarship for summer camps, including overnight camps and day camps.

Sycamore High School graduating seniors who intend to major in music in college may apply for the senior music scholarship. Three scholarships will be awarded — one in each choir, band and orchestra.

The Continuing College Music Scholarship is available to one or more Sycamore High School graduates who are college juniors or seniors majoring in music.

Students are eligible for one scholarship a year, and the status of the Boosters’ budget may determine the quantity and dollar amount of scholarships awarded.

Summer music camp applications must be submitted to the student’s music teacher by April 6.

Senior Music Scholarship applications along with the recommendation form and two recommendation letters must be submitted to the student’s music teacher by April 27.

Continuing College Music Scholarship applications must be submitted by July 13 to Scholarship chairwoman Laurie Emmer.

Late applications will not be accepted for consideration, according to the release.
