DeKALB – The Egyptian Theatre will welcome Recycled Percussion, a high-energy, family-friendly band, to the stage on Saturday, Jan. 27, at 7:30 p.m.
Since the band formed in 1995, they have been unstoppable. Their junk rock music became a national phenomenon week after week during their performances on "America’s Got Talent" in 2009. Playing more than 4,000 shows and more than 400 corporate events in more than 15 countries, the group also has made guest appearances on “Carson Daly,” “The Today Show,” “China’s Got Talent” and the Latin Grammy Awards. The band has been featured on the cover of USA Today and has been voted National Act of the Year a record-breaking six times.
The band's show incorporates everyday items such as power tools, ladders, buckets and trashcans, turning them into widely varying sounding percussion instruments.
Ticket prices start at $25 with discounts available for students, seniors and children. Tickets can be purchased at the Egyptian Theatre box office during box office hours (3 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday), online at www.egyptiantheatre.org or by calling the box office at 815-758-1225.
The Egyptian Theatre, located at 135 N. Second St. in downtown DeKalb, is owned and operated by Preservation of Egyptian Theatre Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
