23rd annual Christmas Tree Walk set at Oak Crest

DeKALB – The “Holly Jolly Christmas” open house at DeKalb Area Retirement Center - Oak Crest is planned from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10.

The home will be decked out with 38 trees decorated by volunteers and staff. Music will fill the home beginning with the DeKalb High School Madrigal Singers at 1:30 p.m.

Santa and Mrs. Claus extend an invitation to children of all ages to share their Christmas wish list. Mrs. Claus is bringing many of her craft items with her for the Christmas Gift Shoppe. Santa’s elves are also coming along this year to help guide guests as they visit all the trees.

Train lovers will once again have the opportunity to view and participate in the operational model train display.

The many trees all have a theme such as “North Woods Christmas,” “Santa Loves Sports,” “Corn Country,” “A Little Girls Dream Christmas,” “Santa’s Washateria,” “I Believe,” “Vintage Christmas,” “Candy Cane Delight,” “All Aboard,” “White Christmas” and “Santa’s Elves Tree.” Be sure to bring a camera to capture some Christmas pictures.

All are invited to participate in the dessert buffet in the Terrace Dining Room.

Valet parking will be available at Door 4. Shuttle service from Resource Bank to Door 4 will begin at 12:30 p.m.

Oak Crest is at 2944 Greenwood Acres Drive in DeKalb.
