CCT’s Stage Right Theater will present a seasonal whodunit dinner theater production of “A Christmas Cactus” on Dec.15 through 17.
The story features Private Investigator Cactus O'Riley, a white-hot redhead with the holiday blues, who is having a tough Christmas Eve. She is trying to lure her secretary, Freddie, away from her overly protective mother, dodging the affections of Deputy D.A. Windsor, and considering closing her business.
She doesn't need the added aggravation of two fugitives who burst into her office looking for justice and a dead detective named Jake Marley, or Freddie's mother who arrives to take Freddie home, but decides to stay because she thinks this is a Christmas murder mystery party that she has always dreamed of attending. Christmas turns into a dickens of a holiday for Cactus in this charming contemporary Christmas tale where goodwill and justice triumph.
The dinner theater will be held at Hillcrest Covenant Church Community Center, 1515 N. First St. in DeKalb. Dinner will be served at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday. Dessert will be served to all ticketholders at the intermission.
The dinner menu includes roast turkey, mashed potatoes, vegetables, rolls and butter. There is a vegetarian option of butternut squash ravioli, vegetables and rolls. Assorted desserts, coffee, tea, lemonade and water will also be served.
Tickets cost $25 for dinner and the show and $15 for dessert and show only. Tables of 10 purchased together are available for $225.
