Grant help Hinckley Museum stay cool

The Hinckley Historical Society Museum recently received a $2,400 grant from the DeKalb County Community Foundation to assist with the cost of an air conditioner and computer.

The items will help with the cataloging and preservation of local artifacts.

The Hinckley Historical Society opened its museum in 2011 at 145 E. Lincoln Highway in Hinckley and in 2015 purchased the historic building in which it was located.

The museum collection includes photos, artifacts, displays, historical records and other Hinckley. The museum is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Saturday and by appointm ent at other times.

The mission of the DeKalb County Community Foundation is to enhance the quality of life in DeKalb County by proactively addressing community needs and distributing philanthropic resources.
