YMCA awarded grant from Kishwaukee Sunrise Rotary

Marilyn Stromborg, International Service chairwoman of the Kishwaukee Sunrise Rotary Club recently presented a grant check to Mark Spiegelhoff, CEO of Kishwaukee Family YMCA.

The Kishwaukee Family YMCA has received a total of $4,000 in grant funding from the Kishwaukee Sunrise Rotary.

The Kishwaukee Sunrise Rotary presented the YMCA with $2,500 and an additional $1,500 to be matched by Rotary District 6420. This District Community Grant will help fund a youth movement program at the YMCA.

Funds will be used to purchase equipment that will help to address gross motor development and social skills building. The program will help foster healthy habits in early childhood. The YMCA plans to launch the youth movement programming in early 2018.

Kishwaukee Sunrise Rotary serves the northern DeKalb County area and provides service to youth, service to the elderly, service to the disabled, vocational service, scholarships, and promotes international understanding through educational and humanitarian programs.

The Kishwaukee Family YMCA works to help children reach their full potential by making youth programs accessible to all. The YMCA is helping to strengthen the DeKalb County community to ensure that everyone has access to vital community programs and resources in support of youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
