SYCAMORE – The Leaf Pickup Program dates are set. The program runs from Oct. 16 to Nov. 22. Work will be done in stages, and the city will be divided into sections.
Leaves from the southeast side of town will be picked up Oct. 16 to 20, Oct. 30 to Nov. 3 and Nov. 13 to 20. Leaves from the north and west sides of town will be picked up Oct. 23 to 27, Nov. 6 to 10 and Nov. 20 to 22.

Residents are asked to abide by several guidelines, including having leaves raked out in the parkway as close as possible to the back edge of the curb; having leaves in loose rows and piles and not containing branches, brush, grass clippings or animal waste; and piles blocked by vehicles will not be picked up.
Also, the city asks that you don’t rake leaves near culverts and pipes, which could cause flooding.
From Dec. 4 to 15, leaves can be dropped placed in a dumpster at the public works facility at 475 N. Cross St. Leaves must be in Kraft paper bags. Only leaves will be accepted. Call public works at (815) 895-3545 for more information.
