NIU hosts community college art exhibition

Northern Illinois University’s School of Art and Design is hosting an exhibition of artwork from Illinois community colleges.

The show features the professional artwork of community college art faculty and a juried competition of community college student artwork.

The exhibit is being held in two locations: The Holmes Student Center main floor gallery at 340 Carroll Ave. and Gallery 215. The show runs through Feb. 24. It is open to the public at the Holmes Center daily from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. and at Gallery 215 on Thursday, Feb. 17, from 4 to 6 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 19, from 1 to 3 p.m.

Faculty art is included from the following schools: Black Hawk College, College of DuPage, College of Lake County, Danville Area Community College, Elgin Community College, Harper College, Heartland Community College, Joliet Junior College, Kankakee Community College, Kishwaukee College, Lewis and Clark Community College, Oakton Community College, Parkland College, Richland Community College, Rock Valley Community College, South Suburban College, Triton College and Waubonsee Community College.

Student art for jury is included from the following schools: Black Hawk College, College of DuPage, College of Lake County, Danville Area Community College, Harper College, Heartland Community College, Illinois Central College, Joliet Junior College, Kankakee Community College, Moraine Valley Community College, Morton College, Oakton Community College, Parkland College, Richard J. Daley College, Richland Community College, Rock Valley Community College and Southwestern Illinois College.
