HINCKLEY – For the fifth year, three old high school friends will compete in Old Fat Guy Idol, a fundraiser to benefit Susan G. Komen Chicago.

The Old Fat Guys – Larry Meredith, Chuck Wesenberg, and Bob Strausberger, will each perform three songs. The audience will vote for their favorite with a monetary donation.

The singer with the most donations will be declared the winner, and all of the donations will benefit Susan G. Komen Chicago.

The event begins at 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, at The Brown Pub in Hinckley. The singers will be joined by a live band that will continue to perform throughout the evening.

Seventy-five percent of the net proceeds generated by Komen Chicago stay in the Chicagoland area, while the remaining 25 percent supports the Susan G. Komen Grants Program for research.

Since 2010, Old Fat Guy Idol has generated more than $18,000 in donations.

There is no cover charge. The Brown Pub is at 200 N. Somonauk Road.
