DeKALB – The DeKalb Park District held a parent-child golf championship Aug. 2 at Buena Vista Golf Course. Children of all ages teamed up with a parent or other adult relative to compete.
The senior division father-daughter champion team was Tony Lamia and Tia Anderson with a 43. Lamia also took the super senior prize for long drive (hole no. 1, 221) and Tia took the senior prizes for closest to the hole (hole no. 2, 11 feet) and longest putt (hole no. 9, 11 feet, 3 inches).
In the junior girls division, Mike and Emma Carpenter were the overall father-daughter champion team with a 42. Emma also took the junior closest to the hole prize (40 feet, 11 inches).
In the junior boys division, Michael and Jake Romas were the overall father-son champion team with a 34. Jake also took the junior prizes for long drive (235) and longest putt (11 feet).
In the Little Whipper division, Doug and Michael Kelly were the father-son champion team with a 43.
In the PeeWee Boys division, Daniel Rowan Sr. and Jr. were the father-son champion team with a 47. Autumn and Nicolas Kelly were the mother-son champion team with a 58.
Paul Schimbke took the senior prize in long drive (241).
