Kohout receives Deisz scholarship

DeKalb County Sheriff Roger Scott presents Blake Kohout of Genoa-Kingston High School with the Deisz scholarship award.

Blake R. Kohout, a senior at Genoa-Kingston High School, has been named the 2014 recipient of the Alf M. Deisz Memorial Scholarship Award. Blake plans to attend Kishwaukee College in the fall with emphasis in law enforcement.

Blake spent two years in the criminal justice program at Kishwaukee Education Consortium. His accomplishments include placing first in the state of Illinois with his crime scene team for Skills U.S.A. and fifth out of 31 states with his crime investigation team at the national competition. He is also an inductee for the National Technical Honor Society.

Blake will receive $500 paid directly to Kishwaukee College at the rate of $250 per semester.
