Sycamore Music Boosters awards scholarships

Sycamore Music Boosters announced the recipients of the 2014 Summer Music Camp Scholarship and Senior Music Scholarships.

The Sycamore Music Boosters Summer Music Camp Scholarship is awarded to Sycamore students currently enrolled in the music program to attend a selected music camp over the summer. Recipients of the Summer Music Camp Scholarship from Sycamore Middle School were Blake Ross, Caroline Bowers, Brett Harris, Maxwell Baird, Morgyn Nelson, Bradley Harris, Ashley Montano, Kjelden Breidenbach, Julia Luo, Julia Bowers, Grace Frielink, Courtney Mulligan, Kelsey Mulligan, Kallista Matthias, and Brooke Stover.

Recipients of the Summer Music Camp Scholarships from Sycamore High School were Olivia Lohse, Jennifer Love, Tyler Berger, Rachel Hecht, Theresa Guss, Ella Atkins, Gracia Watson, Jordan Smith, Andrew Selig, Matthew Johnson, Jake Pisarski, Emma Olson, Jessica Luo, Megan Meyer, Kailey Mulligan, and Bailey Petit.

The Sycamore Music Boosters Senior Music Scholarship is awarded to graduating high school seniors who are majoring in music in college. This year, tw seniors were awarded $500 each to assist with college tuition. Sarah Grant was awarded the Lundbeck Family Scholarship. A double bass player, she will attend Butler University to pursue a degree in music with a concentration in double bass and in recording industry studies. The second scholarship, provided by the Music Boosters, went to Rebecca Vidales, who plays piano, viola, and oboe. She will attend Coe College to major in music education.

The Bette J. Lundbeck Scholarship was awarded to Benjamin Van Wienen, and the John O. Weaver scholarship was awarded to Efrain Aguirre.
