DeKALB – State Rep. Robert Pritchard (R-Sycamore) is teaming up with State Sen. Dave Syverson (R-Rockford), Family Service Agency Senior Services and Volunteer Action Center to host their annual Senior Health Fair. The event will be from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday, July 17, at DeKalb High School, 501 W. Dresser Road in DeKalb.

This year’s fair will feature more than 80 vendors who will provide information and answer questions about services and tips for seniors to live more enjoyable and healthy lives, Pritchard said. Free screenings include blood pressure, spinal, hearing, memory, and vision. There will also be chair massages, refreshments and door prizes.

New this year will be a presentation from the Illinois Veteran Affairs Department on the veteran pension program and other benefits, Syverson said. Also new, by popular demand, will be a parking lot shuttle for those with mobility limitations to take them from their car to the door of the school.

“This fair has grown over the years to offer a one-stop, convenient way for seniors and their caregivers to gather information and visit with providers who can improve their quality of life,” Pritchard said. “The free screenings have provided valuable early detection of issues. I’m looking forward to meeting constituents and connecting them with services to meet their needs.”
