DeKALB – Work on the Illinois Tollway’s Oases Parking Lot Rehabilitation Project is continuing, with work scheduled to begin on commercial truck and car parking lots at the DeKalb Oasis on the Reagan Memorial Tollway (I-88).
Work will include curb and sidewalk upgrades, rebuilding the commercial truck parking lots with concrete pavement and replacement of car parking lots and service roads with asphalt pavement. Pavement replacement and repairs will extend the life of the oases parking lots and service roads, providing a smooth driving and parking surface for customers.
The DeKalb Oasis pavilion and fuel stations will remain open during construction. Partial closures of the commercial truck and car parking lots at the DeKalb Oasis will allow the Tollway to reduce inconvenience to customers during the summer travel season.
During the week of July 14, the DeKalb Oasis commercial truck parking lot rehabilitation work is scheduled to begin. Once the commercial truck parking lot work is underway, repaving work is scheduled to begin on both of the car parking lots during the week of July 24. All lots will remain open during construction, however, available parking will be limited.
In addition, overnight closures and traffic shifts will be used on ramps carrying traffic to and from the oases to accommodate construction. All repair work is scheduled to be completed this fall.
Currently, parking lot rehabilitation is ongoing at the Lake Forest Oasis and the Hinsdale Oasis on the Tri-State Tollway (I-94/I-294) and at the Belvidere Oasis on the Jane Addams Memorial Tollway (I-90) with work scheduled to be completed this fall.
In 2014, the Illinois Tollway will rehabilitate parking lots at seven Tollway oases including the Chicago Southland Lincoln Oasis in South Holland, Hinsdale Oasis, O'Hare Oasis in Schiller Park and Lake Forest Oasis on the Tri-State Tollway (I-94/I-294/I-80), the Belvidere Oasis and Des Plaines Oasis on the Jane Addams Memorial Tollway (I-90) and the DeKalb Oasis on the Reagan Memorial Tollway (I-88).
