KIRKLAND – The Kirkland-Hiawatha All-School ninth annual open house for alumni, former students and current and former faculty and staff will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Friday, July 4, at the new Hiawatha Elementary Library, 410 S. First St. in Kirkland.
Those attending are welcome to bring their families. Former students, faculty and staff can reminisce with classmates and others and look back at their years at Kirkland or Hiawatha via composite class photos, yearbooks, scrapbooks, donated memorabilia, and photos from past open houses. There is no cost to attend, and the open house will take place during the Kirkland Lions nearby Fourth of July celebration with rides, food, and entertainment.
Each year brings a mix of people who come again and again and people coming for the first time. Those who can't attend are encouraged to put it on their calendar for next year.
Reunions for the classes of 1959, 1964, and 1971 are also planned for this year.
