Grants help agencies meeting people's legal needs

Published: Friday, June 20, 2014 2:03 p.m. CST

The Kane County Bar Foundation (KCBF) is accepting grant applications from nonprofit organizations seeking to meet the unfilled legal needs of local citizens. Since 1996, the Foundation has offered funds to encourage and reward cooperation and creativity to develop new and innovative programs and resources to better meet the legal needs of the community.

Last year, five grants totaling $12,500 were awarded by the Foundation to local organizations and agencies.

Only one application will be accepted per agency per funding year. Applications are due no later than July 1, and may be obtained on the Kane County Bar Association website (www.kanecountybar.org/kcbf-grants) or by emailing executive director Jan Wade, director@kanecountybar.org.

The Kane County Bar Foundation is able to provide the grants through fundraising efforts such as its annual gala, and through the direct generosity of attorneys and other interested individuals.

Anyone wishing to make a tax-deductible donation in support of the Kane County Bar Foundation should contact Wade, director@kanecountybar.org.
