Miss Illinois 2014, Marisa Buchheit, will appear in the Kishwaukee Fest Parade of Queens on Friday, July 25, during Kishwaukee Fest of DeKalb County.

The parade steps off at 7 p.m. through downtown DeKalb. Before the parade, Buchheit will host meet-and-greets at select shops in the downtown area.

Kishwaukee Fest of DeKalb County will feature live concerts in the parks, a skateboard challenge, car shows, a Wild West show and Baconpaloosa Swine & Wine Festival.

Buchheit was crowned Miss Illinois in June and will represent the Miss Illinois Scholarship Association Inc. in September for the title of Miss America. After the parade, there will be a social event in which people can meet Buchheit and the other pageant queens who appeared in the parade. There were 16 pageant title holders in the 2013 parade.
