Rev. Young-Mee Park (left) accepted the second annual Bishop's Appeal award from Bishop Sally Dyck (right) at the United Methodist Church Northern Illinois Conference on June 10. Park is the UMC DeKalb district superintendent. Under her leadership, Methodist DeKalb district churches raised $14,271 for an Imagine No Malaria drive to raise $1 million across northern Illinois. Methodists worldwide have a goal of raising $75 million by 2015 to fight malaria in Africa.
