Published: Tuesday, April 22, 2014 10:55 a.m. CST

DeKALB – DeKalb Kiwanis Club is preparing for its monthly Town Hall meeting on Monday, April 28. The meeting, open to the public, features State Rep. Robert Pritchard and will begin at 6 p.m. at the DeKalb Elks Club, 209 S. Annie Glidden Road, DeKalb.

This month’s focus will be on legislative policy and action at the state level.

This intimate and neutral meeting encourages citizens to learn and understand some of the latest legislative moves by the State of Illinois. Often, state bills and actions will impact areas of residents’ lives such as taxes, rules, regulations, and access.

Pritchard’s unique professional background and representative experience should provide some transparency to issues being tackled by the Legislature. The democratic process is sometimes confusing to citizens. Monday’s presentation will include an opportunity for questions and answers.

Pritchard will offer a glimpse into various issues facing the State of Illinois, including the budget, pension reform, education funding, social issues, and a plethora of other pending bills that surface throughout the legislative session for 2014.
