Published: Tuesday, April 15, 2014 5:30 a.m. CDT

Clinton Rosette Middle School in DeKalb held its second annual Spring Student Showcase on March 13. The event was filled with music, poetry, art and literature. The CRMS Jazz Band performed a short set while families browsed the art show, featuring 248 student artists. Four orchestra students performed their interpretation of popular songs. Students from the DeKalb High School Forensics Team performed and more than 30 students shared a piece of original writing. Special thanks to the Scholastic Book Fair for donating gift certificates, CRMS PTA for refreshments and support, and the DeKalb Public Library for donating popular novels and helping families sign up for library cards. Raffle prizes were donated by Carmike Cinemas, Dairy Queen, Buffalo Wild Wings, Target, Moxie and Walmart. The grand prize, a Kindle, was donated by Best Buy.
